Review scores, they really are a contentious topic in the world of media. We have all seen the arguments online over a piece of media that gets a 7/10, or when we see a thread consisting of arguments over what is considered a 10/10 game.

It gets frustrating navigating through the loud noises within the entertainment world, and it gets even more infuriating when people are putting too much stock in a rating. Don’t get us wrong, a rating system is good because reviews offer people a sneak peek at a piece of media or could be a way to find out more about a game or a film before making a transaction.

Whether that transaction is money or time, we don’t want to waste either!

We also live in a time where a lot of bias serves as the backbone of a lot of media discourse. This can come in the form of cosying up with the entertainment industry using illusory tactics to try and push a political narrative.

Opposably exists to try and promote a more honest and less nitpicky kind of reviewing style. We want to be able to tell readers/watchers that a piece of media is good without having the whole argument over why an 8 should be a 9 or whatever. The question is always going to be whether something is good, bad or simply mid.

We think this is easier…

We are a brand of art advocates. It is important to understand that we as a society are getting more and more disconnected from art. This is because of factors such as of lack of funding and the rise of AI. Opposably is built to be the signpost that guides people to the best art and what we think is a work in progress or what is just trash.

Of course, this is an opinion platform, and we never want to insult people’s intelligence or taste. We just want to ensure that people are getting the best kind of media examination available and maybe one day, become an aggregate of what the public thinks of a piece of media.

Stay excellent my dudes oxoxoxox
